I am no stranger to waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep. This occurrence has been much less frequent for me since I had my hip surgeries and am not dealing with the pain I use to have, but none the less, here I find myself wide awake.
I have been tossing and turning for at least an hour now and finally decided the elusive sleep is not going to come. The complication of tonight’s event is that I am in a hotel room with the hubby who is snoozing away. If I were at home I could:
- Go to a different room of the house, turn on the tv and mindlessly be entertained for the next hour or so. Although the Mr. is a pretty deep sleeper, not sure he would be too happy with me if I turned on the tv in this small room.
- Go to the kitchen and bake something like cinnamon rolls for breakfast. That sounds really good but I am not sure the hotel kitchen is available for the guest to putter around in at 4:00 a.m.
- Get on the exercise bike and ride a few miles…..DARN, DARN,DARN, the hotel exercise room does not open until 6:00 a.m.
- Log into work and get a few extra hours in before the day starts…..uh, NOT!
Looks like I am forced to spend an hour or so on Pinterest…..ah, the burdens we must bear!
Well, we were two ships passing in the night- Anna (6yr. old) had us up with coughing from sinus issues, and Andrew had us up (5 yr old TODAY), had us up several times (is it my birthday yet? (me) NO! go back to bed!) I almost gave him his LEGO at 3am so I could sleep…
