Winter Salad with Sesame Vinaigrette

I love Gorgonzola cheese.  I just can not seem to get enough of it these days.  We had this great salad on Christmas Eve with our Italian feast, but I loved it so much I had to make again today for lunch.  There are many yummy parts to this salad, fresh pear chunks, sea salt and cracked pepper flavored almonds and dried cranberries.  However the best part is the new sesame vinaigrette recipe that Molly shared with me.  She had made it for a catering event at school and wanted me to try it.  So glad I did!

Gorgonzola,-Pear-and-Cranbe

Winter Salad with Sesame Vinaigrette

2 Heads of Leaf Lettuce, chopped

1 pkg reduced-sugar dried cranberries

1 pkg Almond accents – Sea salt and Cracked Pepper flavor

8 oz Gorgonzola cheese

2 pears, cubed

Mix the lettuce with the remaining ingredients in a large bowl.  Toss with the vinaigrette.

Sesame Vinaigrette

2 Tablespoons Sesame Seeds

1 Tablespoon Poppy Seeds

½ cup sugar

¼ cup white wine vinegar

¼ cup cider vinegar

½ cup vegetable oil

Mix ingredients and whisk together or use an immersion blender to combine.

Enjoy!
